Blessing of the Pets One of the most popular Downtown Lutheran Worship Services is "The Blessing of the Pets". The 2008 event was held on Sunday, October 5, 2008 in each of the three Worship Services at Historic Trinity. Each pet handler received a St. Francis medal. PAWS, the Detroit Tiger's mascot, was present again this year which made the day extra special. Dogs, cats, rabbits, and hamsters were blessed.
