Booklet 2: Historic Trinity's Stained Glass Windows Ascension & Resurrection 50 pages
This book depicts and describes the pictorial stained glass windows, located in the wedding
chapel, the baptismal chapel, the Chancel window and the balcony window over the organ loft, of
the Historic Trinity Church Building.
These pictorial windows were made by one of the outstanding stained glass artists in
America, the Willet Glass Company of Philadelphia. Mr. Henry Lee Willet used his own ideas and
craftsmanship in the development of the various themes for the individual windows. Mr. Willet also
designed, executed, and installed windows at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City,
the Washington Cathedral in Washington DC, St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in Detroit, Calvary
Church in Pittsburgh, West Point's Cadet Cathedral and many others.
The Trinity windows were one of his first set of windows that were designed, crafted and
installed in the same year, rather than over a period of many years, as we the usual custom. The
windows are made of stained glass with vibrant jewel-like colors, that vary in tone and intensity as
the sunlight moves from east to west around the church. Each upper nave window contains over
6,000 pieces of glass.
