REV. GARY DEAN HEADAPOHLPastor Headapohl was born August 17, 1937, to Raymond and Ruth Headapohl of Detroit. He was the youngest of seven children. He attended Aero Mechanics High School in Detroit and graduated in 1956. He was married to Virginia (Ginny) Ann Randall on March 15, 1957. She is a graduate of Oakland University and the Colloquy Program of the LC-MS. She taught at Lutheran High North and Lutheran High Westland. She retired after twenty-six years in 2000. Pastor and Ginny had three children: Jim, Rich, and Bill. Bill was killed in an auto accident on Christmas morning of 1981. From 1962 to 1977 Pastor Headapohl owned the Mobil Service Station at Twelve Mile and Telegraph in Southfield. In 1977, he sold the business and went back to college. He entered the Ft. Wayne Seminary in 1980. He served his vicarage year at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Royal Oak, Michigan, under the guidance of Rev. Ronald Guettler. Pastor Headapohl graduated from the Seminary on May 25, 1984, with a Master of Divinity Degree and accepted the Call to serve at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Westland, Michigan. He retired there on September 1, 2002. In January 2003 he became an Assisting Pastor in the Cathedral Ministry of Historic Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit, Michigan.
